[NU Sports] Duke, it out

Dennis,

Don't be so pessimistic! Surely, before the Duke game, one of the
diligent members of this list will discover that the game will be
broadcast over some obscure internet feed. Of course, it will turn
out that only subscribers to ISPs in rural Iowa and Michigan will be
able to receive the feed. Fortunately, another member of the list
will find a hack that will allow anyone to see the game online, but
only if you can make your computer appear to be on the Northwestern
campus, and only if you're running Windows XP service pack 5.9.2r9.
Everyone else will end up tuning in to the game on WGN, only to find
out that they're broadcasting a Cubs game instead. When you try to
listen to WGN online, the server will be down, and ultimately you'll
follow the game online on ESPN.com. (Before you suggest WNUR, you
should note that its server will be maxed out by this time, and you
don't live in the Chicago area).

But seriously, it does appear that the Duke game will be available via
an internet feed. According to goduke.com, the game will be on "ACC
Select." Googling ACC Select brings up this website: http://acc.playonsports.tv/
. It does appear that games have been broadcast on this site in the
past, although there aren't any future games on the current schedule,
and it's not entirely clear whether games are broadcast live on this
site (at least some are not broadcast live, but others perhaps are).
Also, it looks like single games cost $5. This might be an option.
We'll have to continue to monitor it to see if more information
becomes available.

John
