NU's student body is much more national and those kids
from California, the mid-Atlantic, etc. aren't big
hockey fans (the NHL keeps trying to force hockey in
the sunbelt but it hasn't worked).


Not so sure about that. My wife's nephew (Tommy Bardis) just finished his red-shirt transfer year from St. Lawrence to Wisconsin.

He grew up and played his entire youth hockey in Atlanta, Georgia.
