My .02:  Men's lacrosse would be a favorable alternative  to hockey.  It's 
cheaper, we have a terrific field just built, it's an up  and coming sport, and 
in my opinion, we would be able to recruit like mad.   Hell, I's be in favor a 
naming our fine Lacrosse coach we have for the women's  team to coach the 
men.  I bet she could handle it with ease, and she has  experience building a 
program from nothing.
   Now let's find a few offensive linemen and about 12 people who  can play 
basketball, and we'll be all set!
