Not to get into the politics of  this, bur when the myopic greenies blocked drilling for oil and unclear power and compounded the problem with the ethanol con game, two  things happened, the price of food sky-rocketed  particularly   for third world countries. but also for the lower income people in the US.  Add to that the lack of refining capacity in the US, and we have the makings of major economic problems worldwide.
