Dunbar left when RW was still the HC for Cal.  RW promoted McGee 
with the assumption that he was going to be around to bring McGee along to a top level OC (promoted Jan 06 - before RW's death) with HIS knowledge of the offense (since RW really designed it, NOT Wilson and NOT Dunbar).  

I agree, Colby is terrible.  I think the new LB coach should get a shot at DC.  He PROVED himself at his last position as DC by bringing his defense from terrible (110th ish) to decent - 35th ish in 3 seasons.

I think Jerry does a good job as DB coach with the little he has to work with (since DBs are notoriously the "dumbest" position).  I think this year the corners are "worse" than usual because the LBs are the worst they have been in a long time.  
I see the safeties and CBs cheating to help run stop and then are getting burned on the pass play when we generate no pass rush.

Brown is still around because he played for NU and avoids EEO issues.  Dunbar left 
allegedly to be closer to his family in California, but now he is back at another Big Ten 
school, Minnesota I think.  He eithr didn't want to work for Fitzgerald or else he knew 
the pantry was  empty.
