I'm not going to disagree with any of this, but rather make a suggestion:  

Follow my lead, something I learned from my father years ago, and put the television on with the sound down, then listen to WGN (in my case, online).

No, it doesn't solve the problem for non-Northwestern fans tuning into a game, but it saves me from getting an ulcer.

Let's hope play next week doesn't give me one either.

unacceptable.  If you're going to be an impartial broadcaster, you have 
to treat the teams equally.

But as I said, it was more than that.  The announcing tandem was 
completely unfamiliar with the NU personnel.  One of kept pronouncing 
CJ's last name "Boo-shay", and called Kevin Mims "Calvin." And they put 
Kadela at defensive end.  Announcers butchering players' names is almost 
a tradition, but getting his position wrong is just being unprepared.
