I'll add my kudos to NU's second round of campus
programming on the Big Ten Network. The Mozart Mass in
Alice Millar Chapel was just wonderful. My TiVo picked
it up last night and it sounds and looks fantastic -
great to see Northwestern's talented student musicians
and vocalists get their showcase! It will be on again
tomorrow morning at 9am Wildcat time.
I see that NU also has another show next week
featuring Waa-Mu ... so looks like we're getting more
play on the campus programming part than most other
schools early on (Maybe because we don't have a
coaches show? Or just because we were more prepared?)
Love the NU commercial of the football players,
cheerleaders, band and fans in the stand waxing
educational during the game!:)
Also, I noticed that football fans in need of some
cheering up (aren't we all!:) ) can relive not one,
but two NU-Michigan games next week! ESPN Classic will
showcase the 1995 win in Ann Arbor (9/28 @ noon Purple
Clock Tower time) and the 2000 classic in Evanston
(9/25 @ 2pm NU time). The 54-51 game will also be
featured as the BTN's "greatest games" feature 9/25 at
5pm Evanston time with retrospective from journalists,
players, etc. mixed in with the highlights.
That late afternoon contest still gives me goosebumps
as I can see the sure TD on fourth down slip out of
DA2's hands only to be followed by my second-favorite
fumble in history (Ron Dayne's one in Camp Randall was
pretty sweet). Maybe it will inspire the team for
Michigan week!:)
Tonight's 1999 Illinois-Indiana game may be stretching
the "greatest games" definition of the BTN a bit, but
the 2000 NU-Michigan game certainly fits that bill.
One of many that should be on their programming list
featuring the purple over the next few months!
GO CATS!!!
