We all knew this would be a "learn on the job" sort of engagement.  You know
he is going to get better.

I think that we have to see how he recruits before we pass judgment.

Among other things, hopefully he learned that he could have won this game by
kicking field goals.  

I also thought taking the field goal off the board and going for the
touchdown sent the message to his defense that he didn't trust they were
going to be able to hold Duke in the second half (which they did with Duke's
help).

Not kicking the second field goal told his defense that the didn't think that
they could get the ball back and his offense that he didn't think they would
give the team another scoring opportunity (both wrong).

Yes NU made an emotional pick when Fitz got the job, look at the cubs who got
Piniella instead of Girardi, Fitz probably needs to go back to asst. coach
somewhere and NU needs to spend for better coaches.
