[NU Sports] First half thoughts ...

We're letting the Dookies hang in and it's frustrating
because we look like we're dominating physically and
should be up big. Ugh. Some thoughts ...

* Love the purple helmets under the lights - black
pants look better than the white ones as well.

* I HATE ACC REFS. We came out aggressive on D and got
pressure and a boatload of quick flags early took that
away.

* I like rollouts for CJ, but why do we always seem to
roll him out to the wrong side? His first INT and a
later miss at the goal line were rolled out opposite
of his throwing arm, so he has to turn all the way
around to get the throw off. NU seems to have done
this with QBs for years and it has yet to make sense.

* I HATE ACC REFS. I'm going to super glue the bloody
whistle to their lips! Let the kids play!

* Nice response drive by CJ. I really like Roberson
and Conteh as backups (and perhaps to use with
Tyrell?) and our core of wideouts is the best it's
been in years.

* Our pass D has backed off the aggressiveness and is
getting shredded - that 4th down conversion hurt.

* I HATE ACC REFS. Some pretty poor spots both ways so
far - are they using the metric system in that league?

* Hang on to the goshdarn ball - the only way Duke
wins here is if we keep giving it to them.

* I HATE ACC REFS. Bogus call on offensive
interference ruined what looked like our second
scoring drive.

* We need to get off the field on 3rd down more.

* Dunno about the 4th down call - we had been running
fairly well.

Pathetic officiating aside, we're doing all we can to
give this game away right now. Dumb mistakes,
turnovers and porous D on third down. We look like
we're in clear control of the trenches tonight aside
for a few pass protection mixups, but have been
hindered by the zebras and our own mistakes. If we
keep letting them hang around we're going to give them
the game.

Better wake up fast!
