[NU Sports] Some Duke thoughts

Good stuff on being nervous about Duke. This is a classic "doughnut" game
where there was an incentive to play well against Nevada, as well as next
week's affair.
If we need any more proof, let me take you for a rather unpleasant trip
down Memory Lane. It was 1998, and we just polished off UNLV 41-7 to get a
false sense of security. As exciting as last week's win was, let's not kid
ourselves. We were "C" or "D" in many areas, such as our defensive line which
needed blitz help all game long.
Duke waxed us 44-10. I remember listening to the internet feed in
absolute shock and horror. Coach Fred Goldsmith explained that his team benefited
from an abundance of upper-classmen who"knew football". fast-forward to 2007:
Duke comes into town downtrodden, but returns the entire offense in-tact.
My head says this will be one of those brain-numbing non-conference
losses that we'll ramble on all off-season as "the one that got away."
However, CJ and the entire team must have been ecstatic that they pulled
one out of the fire, and our special teams have been stellar. Despite last
week's heroics, I think Duke knows that if they don't get it done tomorrow,
0-12 is a distinct possibility. I see Duke pulling this one out. They played
well vs. UVA. and lead at half vs. UConn. Great googla-mooglee; Duke 31 NU
27. Ouch, I hope I'm wrong.

             GO CATS!! Eric
