[NU Sports] One down, 12 to go ... [Attendance]

ABC/ESPN can have the 2:30p time slot. It was always a time slot created and scheduled solely for television. Growing up, the games would always start at 1pm, with or without television.
But again, the energy is ALWAYS higher during night games, even if you start at 5p. They need to do something to boost attendance at Ryan Field -- 16,000 is embarrassing and ridiculous.

>The Big Ten's contract with ABC/Disney/ESPN gives ABC exclusive rights to the 2:30 time slot. That helped keep the revenue rolling in from ABC at a high level. The Big Ten can't televise (sell broadcast rights for) any other games during that time slot. The Big Ten can, and will, schedule more Saturday evening and Friday evening games.
