Eh, I think it's Comcast who will start feeling the
heat from fans in the midwest. If Comcast hadn't
pushed for their own niche sports networks to be on
basic, they might have a case ... but, nope.

I thought the Web site said bars would have access the
overflow channels too. If I were a bar owner in
Wisconsin or elsewhere in the midwest, I'd find a way
to get these games fast if the cable companies keep
dropping the ball - could be BIG business.

I don't see how NU has much to lose - this network
means our games are on TV every week nationwide. Ten
years ago, Notre Dame was pretty much the only one who
had that and five years ago, we had improved to most
Big Ten games each week - now we have all.
I think once the midwest cable thing is settled, this
will be a huge recruiting tool (which is why we need
to get a Coach Fitz show on the air!). Those with a
dish will see NU and Big Ten games nationwide every
week - no other league has that.
Even in the days of ESPN Plus, there would be some
games left out and they were really only available in
local markets unless you paid the GamePlan fee. I
can't see how this is a step back for the visibility
of our football program.
If nothing else, it means that the local Chicago
stations will have footage of the games to run on
their newscasts - I can remember times while in
Evanston where the NU highlights were either a local
camera on the sideline for a quick play or nothing at
all for road games.
BTW, if anyone switches to DirecTV for the Big Ten
Network, spread the wealth and say you were referred
by Stephen Truog in Litchfield Park, AZ. I need the
cash bonus!:)
And let your cable company know that you switched
because they wouldn't carry BTN - if enough people
start leaving or threatening to leave, they'll work
out a deal in a hurry!

PS - Sutton is a "hawse" ... not getting much
blocking, but he's just steamrolling over 2-3 tacklers
each time!
