Shon is in a strange position as he is employed by the university as an asst. AD. I don't think any of the other BTN/ESPN people are in similar positions.
We went to the fast break club tip-off dinner. Mostly the normal coach speak. We really like Sterling and Nash, but the rest of the team is pretty weak without Coble. With 18 big ten games this double digit wins seem unlikely.
I can't believe we don't have a home date with the Ill-whine-I. The scheduling is very strange as I remember in years past where Indiana and Purdue played out-of-conference so they could get their second game.

Those [of us] who have interviewed or talked one on one with Tim Doyle find him
to be a very articulate, clever guy. I'm sure he blew away the interviewers
looking for members of the BTN basketball team and will be a stand out presence
on the broadcast [if some wacky sports producer doesn't screw up his natural
style.] If he chooses to continue as an air personality - he's going to do the
old alma mater proud.
HOWEVER!!!!!!
The guy I'm sorry about is Shon Morris. While he has a continuing relationship
with ESPN, he really belongs along the court on Big 10 broadcasts, and maybe
even on the feature TV game each week. He is the best color guy by far on the
WGN broadcasts [sorry Kap] when they can get him out there [IMHO] and has a
tremendous TV presence, even when talking to the top coaches in the game.
[I have not accepted any renumeration from Mr. Morris for the above comment, nor
have I been promised anything by Mr. Morris. He also did not write nor
contribute to my unsolicited endorsement]
Why Shon isn't on the #1 TV broadcast each week as the analyst is beyond me -
I'd certainly have him there - maybe he's just too literate for the great
unwashed masses?
