After watching the Nevada, Duke and EMU games, playing down to the  
competition level certainly is a plausible explanation, although that is not  much of 
tribute to the coaches or team leadership.  In any case, it will be  by no 
means an excuse in the four remaining games.  Each Big Ten opponent  has the 
potential to whip us unless the Cats remedy the non-existent pass rush,  deplorable 
kick coverage, and coverage-challenged corner backs.   Unless the Cats 
correct those problems quickly, Purdue will do to us what  they did to Iowa.  No one 
should expect the offense to keep compensating  for the defense/special teams 
flaws.  I doubt we'll be able to score 45 or  50 points against the 
Boilermakers.  We win or lose depending on what the  defense/special teams do.
