Showdown Saturday lost a little luster in the flurry
of upsets last week, but at least the Big Ten still
has a 5-0 vs. 5-0 matchup left with the game in West
Lafayette.:)
So many good games this week that we don't even need
to pick up the Thursday game, although Kentucky-South
Carolina is shaping up to be a heck of a game this
year. So, picks due by kickoff Saturday - should be a
dandy!

MY PICKS
========
* WISCONSIN 35, Illinois 31 - Tempted to go with the
upset, but it's too easy to jump on the Zookerwagon.
Yeah, they'd be 5-0 if they could hang on to the ball,
but they show their youth here as the Badgers continue
to win ugly, but win.
* INDIANA 42, Minnesota 17 - Great story for the
Hoosiers as they keep on track for the bowl game
Hoeppner knew they could make.
* PENN STATE 18, Iowa 6 - Aside from Michigan, no team
has given JoePa as many fits recently as the Hawkeyes.
They've had some U-G-L-Y games as well (wasn't one 4-2
or something like that?:) ). But the Nits need a win
and are at home, while Iowa's banged up.
* MICHIGAN 49, Eastern Michigan 0 - After surviving a
scare in Evanston to jolt the Wolverines back to
reality, no focus lost here.
* OHIO STATE 23, Purdue 20 - Great prime time game for
ABC this week as the Big Ten's best offense faces the
best defense. Close, but the Bucks' D saves it late
with a turnover.
* LSU 26, Florida 13 - The Gators were exposed and
humbled last week while LSU has looked better each
week - plus this one's at night, and even the Mighty
Gators shake at the thought of Tiger Stadium after
dark.
* TENNESSEE 20, Georgia 17 - Is the SEC awesome this
year, or is it slipping into parity, where all the
teams not named LSU could finish with 2 or 3 league
losses? The Dawgs are good on the road, but the Vols
need a win and get it at home.
* OKLAHOMA 24, Texas 10 - Last week aside, OU is the
class of the Big XII and should roll to the BCS from
here out.
* MISSOURI 37, Nebraska 33 - Are the Tigers that good?
No, but neither is Nebraska (especially their D) and
so Mizzou gets a big win at home.
* VIRGINIA TECH 16, Clemson 14 - In the topsy turvy
mediocrity of the ACC that makes the Vegas line people
go insane, the Hokies win here to bounce back in the
hunt.
And off the board ...
* NORTHWESTERN 31, Michigan State 27 - Classic trap
game for Sparty coming off a stinging defeat at Wisky
last week. NU played well for three quarters before
giving away the game vs. Michigan. The Cats know they
can move the ball on Sparty and remember last year's
collapse to build an early lead and hang on late.
Picks due by Saturday!
GO CATS!!!
