Subject: [NU Sports] The Second Season

Fellow Wildcat Faithful,

Our schedule splits into two separate seasons. The first was 3 games we
should win and 2 games we should lose. We dropped the ball against Duke, but
we're pretty much where we expected to be. The second season presents the
Cats with 7 games they can win or lose, depending on which Northwestern team
shows up.

We may not have enough offense to hang with Purdue, but if the defense from
the first half of the Michigan game shows up, the O-line gives CJ time to
make good decisions, and McGee remembers to RUN THE DAMN BALL, I like our
chances in each of the remaining games.

In my opinion, our post-season hopes ride almost entirely on beating
Michigan State this Saturday. If we win, we're at 3-3 with Minnesota and
Eastern Michigan giving us a shot at 5-3. It is my sincere hope that MSU
goes into it's traditional October slump and that the Cats remember the
embarassing comeback in Evanston last year. It would help to have Sutton,
but Conteh proved he's capable if McGee remembers to RUN THE DAMN BALL.

The road to Detroit starts in East Lansing.

Victory & Honor,
Jim
