I was suggesting conference by "highest athletic level".

Multiple Minnesota fans I have talk to are jealous of our football success as they would rather see occasional Big Ten titles than consistent generic bowls.

We seem to have higher peaks(Rose Bowl) and lower valleys(3-8) than most teams in recent memory, but that is more related to finding our identity after so many years of losing.

I am confident that the program is headed in the right direction without much tampering beyond some possible asst. coaching changes.

Northwestern does NOT compete "on the highest. . . athletic level" in 
football and basketball.  If we have risen above doormat statues, we are 
still the game everyone should win.
