<Neither does it help that the eletists at and from NU who live in the
Chicago area don't care enough to attend <football and/or basketball games.
How else can the low attendance e explained?
Attendance will rise when winning becomes routine, not just an occasional
bright spot in the darkness of defeat. To do that, you need talent.
There are also issues with facilities, including parking. Someone asked
where we could build a new stadium. My freshman year McCullough Hall was on
the shore of Lake Michigan. By the end of that year, it wasn't on the shore
anymore. Not long after I graduated, a substantial piece of the campus grew
where once there was only water. There is no problem in this area that mere
money can't correct. As we saw with the recent fund-raising campaign, NU
alums fork over. As they say in the business department, you can't make
money if you don't spend money. Barnett upgraded facilities. Now it's time
to take the next step up.
