Two opinions:  Bush is a profound failure, and he is a conservative.  Both 
are debatable.  The president's atrocious spending and his big-brother No 
Child Left Behind program are both pure liberalism.  I suspect NU's faculty 
is more elitist than it is liberal, although it no doubt is the latter, too. 
Elitism seems inherent at Northwestern.  There certainly was a lot of it 
when I attended and provides the one bad memory I have of the school.  Some 
of what I read here tells me that nothing has changed.
