[NU Sports] AD Replacements

OK, I have abandoned my hope that Vanderlinden will ever return to the sidelines as our DC. However, maybe he would consider a return to Evanston as our our Athletic Director. I would sure appreciate seeing his knowledge of defense and energy for recruiting back at NU. I think he'd be a great mentor to Fitz.

I realize it's never going to happen, just fun list-serv banter.

Victory & Honor,
Jim

We need an inspired move at AD - something like the inspired moves Rocky
Wirtz has been making with the Chicago Blackhawks (stealing marketing guru John
McDonough from the Cubs). How about Ron Guenther for AD ? Gary Barnett ?
Stanford's AD ? Duke's AD ? Southern Cal's AD ?

No sense looking at this as a negative - we have to look at it as an
opportunity for an inspired choice, and Bienen is as likely to make an inspired
choice as anyone.

(The cynic in me wants to kick Bill Carmody 'up' into the AD's office - and
get him off the basketball court...)

Chuck Herron Tech '85

PS - has anybody heard from Doug Single lately ? or Bruce Corrie ?
