[NU Sports] well, sorry, Dennis

Yes, I know MOST fans couldn't care less about
anything other than football and men's hoops, but that
doesn't mean I can't, and I do.
Frankly, I care a lot more about wrestling than I do
basketball, and anybody that wants to see NU win a
national men's title anytime soon should as well.
Heck, I'd like to see track make a comeback.
I do suspect, too, that many people actually at NU
judge the athletic department not merely on the big
two sports, but as a whole. The smaller sports are
part of campus life in a way the bigger ones sometime
are not.
I do know that I am lot more likely to support an
athletic program if overall excellence is achieved.
Others may differ, and I certainly would not denigrate
their point of view.
But to ignore the grace, skill, achievement and
athleticism of the non-revenue sports is, to me, to
miss much of the joy and passion of college athletics.
In this case, 95 percent of the people are, I believe,
missing out. Too bad.
