[NU Sports] A thought on bowling

At a tailgate following the Illinois game, I had a chance to speak with a couple of the players. They said that as a bowl- eligible team, the Cats could practice WITHOUT pads until the last bowl teams are selected, which I believe is Dec. 3. They guessed at the time that most of the regulars would not practice (but would run, run, run) in favor of the younger players to get an advance look at next season. If a bizarre sequence of events led to an actual bowl invite, the regulars would get in some practice time too after the bid was accepted.

They knew a bid was a near impossibility, but that was their impression as to practice.
