I had the same question, and according to the Tribune article today,
they will indeed be practicing later this week (2 or 3 times, I think).


I don't know if that's allowed because the college football "regular
season" actually extends through this weekend, or because they are
"bowl eligible", but it certainly can't hurt in any case. 

The bowl idea is an interesting proposition. However, while I can
easily why the Big Ten might push for any plan allowing them to place
more teams, it's hard to imagine the lower tier Big 10 bowl games going
along with "allowing" a couple 7-5 teams to go elsewhere, while they
end up with the 6-6 teams. 

But if it worked out, I'd sure love to see the Cats get one more crack
at it this year though.

Geez, does this mean I should root for Colorado to beat Nebraska this
weekend to keep the Huskers off the bowl-eligible list? I'm not sure
that's something I could stomach. :-)
