Of course we should have beaten Duke--But we won quite a few games this year
that we easily could have lost- and could esily be looking at a 4-8 season-So
let's no harp on one game--let's look at the overall season --I am
disappointed --we didn't beat any good teams and are only likely to be 6-6 becuase we
had a very soft non-conference schedule.(or perhaps 6-7 if we luck out and go
to a bowl , but lose)
But if these past 2 years are our "down year"s and are attributed to
re-builidng then I am fine with it. Remember during the Sun Bowl year, we won a few
games we had no business winning (Iowa at the top of the list) and lost a QB
who went pro( first time in nearly 25 years that an NU QB wound up in the
NFL)--What this suggests is that not only were we probably not a real strong 9-4
team, but we were going to have a tough time re-building even under Walker
Give Fitz and his staff a chance-- (but don't get me started on hoops !)
Harry
