I believe the saying is: "you can't go home again..." 

I'd love to see Dunbar back here, but I doubt it will happen - he wants to be
head coach again, that was obvious when he left and with his resume, I can't see
why he's not at a Div I program - in charge right now. Had he been here when RW
died, he'd probably be the head man right now.

As for the constant ripping of the assistants...

Jerry Brown is a long standing alum who just happens to be very good at working
with our young black athletes. His recruiting areas dictate how well he
recruits, but I know he's a presence in his areas.

McGee is turning into one of the better young OCs out there - I can see him
leaving for another school and being the absolute spread Guru, and all of you
nay sayers calling for Fitz head for letting him go.

Colby is doing the best job anyone can given the talent level. At most other
schools, our kids would just now be starting to play regularly, not start. Our
guys have been starting, getting hurt, and building strength for 3 years. They
are just now coming into their own.

I'm pretty sure that Colby will be moving on...Fitz will probably either take
the DC job himself or give it to one of the present assistants.

In any case, I wouldn't go out and do a wholesale housecleaning. Any top
assistant would pass on NU due to the academics. The guys we want are ones who
are on their way up who want the challenge of building an NU type program. And
given that Duke, Vandy and Stanford are all pretty stable right now, maybe we'll
have a shot at getting one - if there are openings.

Mr. Herron is an outspoken [and maybe monotonous] critic of the present staff.
I'm sure we can find e-mails where he wanted to fire Walker too. Some people
always see the glass half empty.
