This is a tough game to call. Phil Steele's Power Sweep magazine doesn't
give much insight, calling for NU to win 21-20. The line favors NU, who are
giving 1 point.
On one hand, Iowa is lousy on the road, yet will have 1/2 the stadium
rooting for them tomorrow. On one hand, Bacher has been "iffy" the past two
weeks, yet Sutton should be ready to crank it up for the entire game.
We have Iowa playing well in 2 out of it's last 3 games, yet getting
clobbered by a Purdue team that we had on the ropes.
One thing that stuck out in my mind is that Iowa has struggled on offense
due to new personal and injuries. NU, on the other hand, has had very few
injury issues (save Sutton), and have gotten healthier as the season has
progressed. For a change, I think our depth will wear Iowa out. As much as Iowa's
offense will like NU's defense (as reported in the Sun-Times this week) , I
think our defense will "like the change."
I agree with Poster Jim L. that we've yet to play a complete game. This is
a .500 bunch we're playing tomorrow. Not Purdue or Michigan, in which we in
position to win both games.
In the lynch-pin game of the season, I pick NU to win by a 32-27 score.
It will be interesting, and how we'll arrive at 32 I'm not sure:), but I think
we'll be in the low 30's and root-canal Iowa in the high 20's.

                 GO CATS!!! Eric
