We have fielded a lot of poor teams in the history of Northwestern.
Why does baseball particularly irritate you?
It is a non-revenue sport and college baseball is mostly populated by
the leavings of single, double, and triple-A. We even have had very
visible and successful players including Loretta and Girardi so we
have something to hang our hat on.
Personally it is only basketball and football I get excited about in
regards to winning and losing. For non-revenue sports I follow the
winners and generally ignore those that underperform. I am always
looking to read any positive stories about Northwestern and/or its
athletics.
On another note:
We ran a 5K at Northwestern a couple of weeks ago and talking the
winner he is a freshman at NU on the triathlon team. Given that is my
sport I was intrigued. They are a club sport which I believe is in
its first year of existence.

They placed 35th out of 46 teams at the collegiate national
championships in late April, which is quite good. For those of you
who know the sport it is very tough to train over the winter so
performing well at early season events is almost impossible.

Is anyone else beside me disgusted with the year after year poor
performance of the baseball team with no apparent changes planned for
the program?
