I know there are a bunch, but two that immediately come to mind are:
The Weatherman - scenes were filmed in Evanston, which required fake
snow. The movie takes place in Chicago, and the main character
(Nicholas Cage) seems to live on the North Shore
Home Alone - features the outside of Millar Chapel, but the interior
of the church in the movie is different.
