[NU Sports] great, just great

That made me chuckle too, although the whole thing makes me wonder whether 
Northwestern's sports reputation gets perpetuated by sportswriters from NU, 
especially those who graduated pre-Barnett. As in: few other people would 
know, or care, about the basketball tournament thing if our Medill alums 
didn't keep bringing it up.

It also makes me wonder: are there any famous Medill graduates who aren't 
sportswriters? I realized I've never heard of one. Is that because 
sportswriters are more likely to be household names than other journalists 
(especially if one is interested in sports), or because college affiliation 
becomes slightly more relevant when one might cover college sports, or is 
it just because we basically only produce sportswriters? (I'm kidding about 
that last one, I hope.) Things to ponder on a slow Friday...
