[NU Sports] hoops post mortem

We do need renovations to but not razing of Welsh-Ryan, starting with
the locker rooms and practice areas - the places that the players use
the most and which directly affect recruiting. We also need, and here
Tavaras Hardy will make an impact in coming years, to refocus recruiting
efforts locally. I don't just mean Chicago either. One of the key
starters at Duke is a Chicago suburban kid - the type of player we
should have had a shot at but who for whatever reason didn't even
consider NU. Same goes for a Wilmette kid at Stanford. It's bad enough
not to get Public League kids but losing kids from New Trier and
Glenbrook is terrible. Especially when they won't even look at you.
Another new assistant to focus on recruiting, in addition to Tavaras,
may be a partial solution. I'm not advocating a change at the top yet.
Mostly because I don't see much out there that would be better that
would be willing to take the job
