Sorry everybody but in the history of American culture 1950-1998 it will be  
an advertising driven phenomenon , first in newspapers and then TV, now  
internet.  Sex sells, but not as much as a limited time offer at wall mart,  or a 
free sample at costco, and losing seldom sells except with pathological  brand 
loyalty, think cubs.
