BTW, to continue your appropriate "money" theme. The Vandy re-org was about
money too. The president and the board decided that they were willing to
take the risk that the athletic program would suffer in return for the budget
savings that came from integrating athletics into the traditional student
activities organization. They also saved money by eliminating many of the
athlete-only facilities (dorms, dining halls, etc.).
It was a bold move, but appears to be bearing fruit both in results as well
as creating a better sense of community on campus. Something NU should look
at closely.

Well her is my take, I would rather see a conference championship (which is
about money) than some stupid bowl game (Motor city, Helen of Troy, etc)
(which is about money). It is all about money, isn't it? If you are not up
on what is happening at Vandy you should be. They abolished the AD and his
staff and the whole campus is jock friendly. NU should take a leadership
role like that.
