[NU Sports] ND breakup with Michigan schools

An additional aspect of ND's new national scheduling is the commitment to
play three Big East games a year, with at least one of those to be held in
Giants Stadium (old and new) each year and the other two home and away. I'm
not sure what year it starts but I believe it's either 2010 or 2011. It was
a compromise given to the Big East to quiet the move towards a showdown on
ND's membership.

That is kind of a strange story here in Orlando, as we soon have to vote on

refurbishing the Citrus bowl, a lot of money for a stadium that is used very

seldom as UCF has built their own. How much cash the citrus bowl folks are

giving the evil empire is a secret but the idea of teams getting payoffs to
play home games 1000 miles from campus is disturbing.
