[NU Sports] McGee Fire or Not?

I heard on the news yesterday that he was kicked out of school.
Anyways, to chime in on the McGee situation - as was noted in an earlier
message, there have been many instances of coaches drinking or drinking &
driving recently in college sports. And the trend is basically to sweep it
under the rug unless it was a major issue or if they have a long string of
issues - and in most cases it is completely ignored if the team on the field
is winning.
In any case I say let the justice system do it's job first, and if he is
convicted then the university should take whatever action is in his
contract, if such action is in there. While his actions definitely are not
something to be emulated I don't see it as any reason to throw him out
especially given the transition that NU's program is still undergoing. If
there are more issues down the road that is another story, but hopefully it
won't come to that.
Plus, NU has given players and coaches reasonable second chances before -
the instance I remember is Brandon Jones (I think that was his name) who was
in a fight, kicked off the team, then allowed back (only to get arrested for
another fight where he was kicked off permanently). Unlike that situation,
hopefully McGee will learn from this (as he had previously worked his way
back from troubles with the law) and the team can move forward without
unnecessary interruption.
