[NU Sports] McGee Fire or Not

Why don't all of us (including Yours Truly with my "Community Service" plug)
slow down and wait for the facts to come out--from all parties involved--the
police officer(s) and Coach McGee. We all know that everything we read in
the papers and online is always true and correct, don't we, just like we know
that everything told to us by those in power in Washington (both parties, I'm
not playing favorites here) is also always true and correct. C'mon guys and
gals, let's not rush to judgment. If he IS proven guilty or admits his
guilt, then his punishment should be commensurate with his offense (and I don't
condone drinking and driving in any way, shape or form). But until that
happens, why are we deciding that (a) he is culpable, (b) the officer must have
smelled alcohol when the window rolled down, etc.? Can we please let the
system work, even if the wheels of justice grind a little more slowly than the
speculation on this list.

Let's not forget NU's Latin motto on its seal: Quaecumque sunt vera --
"Whatsoever things are true" from Philippians 4:8.

Let the "truth" come out here before we decide to "fire" Coach McGee or
roast him in our communications. To do anything less would be to dishonor our
Purple heritage.

Paul Levinson
