[NU Sports] McGee Fire or Not?

I agree with Roy's comment, but cannot fathom what John is trying to say
with his comment. If it is somehow a slap at liberalism or perhaps radical
left movements of the 60's and 70's, what does that have to do with a DUI in
2007? Why, because some people want to decriminalize marijuana--and what does
that have to do with a DUII in 2007, when the DAILY article says the
"influence" was alcohol (not any type of drugs)?

I hope that Coach McGee is able to work things out (as a presumably
first-time offender, he should be able to get a plea with the condition that he go
into a "program" or "school" (where you learn not to drink and drive) set by
the Court). And then deal honestly and affirmatively with the young men under
his charge. I am confident that unless he "blew" a very high percentage of
alcohol in his system, that the University (and Coach Fitz) can--and
should--give him a second chance--but with strict conditions that if he slips again,
that's it. I say that as a former prosecutor who now handles some criminal
defense as part of my legal practice, including an occasional "DWI" or "DUI"
case in NY.
