Dennis, while you won't get any argument from me on the details of your
response, I prefer to see the glass half-full whereas, in keeping with
recent patterns, you're more of a half-empty guy. Your view may even be
the more realistic of the two, but a conference road win is a good win,
no matter the score. The conference sked has not been kind to the 'Cats
so far, with only a talented-but-schizophrenic Michigan team and one of
the top five teams in the country at home so far. Unfortunately, two of
the next three aren't much better, with Wisconsin and OSU again, but at
least they're at home and at least we know that we can beat Minny.
Speaking of the fact that we play the Gophers again so soon, does it
seem to anyone else that a lot of the home-and-home series in the
conference are unusually close together this year? Michigan and Purdue
played in West Lafayette and Ann Arbor a week apart. We face OSU and
Minny in four straight games, we play our two games against Purdue a
week apart at the end of the season. PSU has their Wisconsin games a 10
days apart and their two OSU games a week apart. I haven't looked at
everyone's schedule, nor have I looked at past schedules, but it just
seems to me that it's happening a lot this year. Is this a new
scheduling method that the conference is experimenting with or is it a
one-year fluke?
