[NU Sports] Is the Big Ten overrated?

If divisional playoff also means the end to the annual OSU/Mich game, it
won't ever happen.  

I think that the ONLY thing that could potentially move this would be ND
joining the conference.  Then you could build an east and west division with
OSU, Michigan, PSU, MSU, Purdue, and Indy in the east and ND, Iowa, Wisky,
Ill, Minny, and NU in the west.

The only one giving up a "rival" game is ND with it's Indiana neighbors and
that isn't that much of a rival game anyway.  ND would potentially view this
as a conference that it could dominate and thus guarantee a yearly big game
for the BT championship.  The rest of the folks in the west might be happy
about it too because they would only have to play the winner of the east and
not have to face both OSU and Michigan most years.  Joe Pa would be happy
too because he would finally have Michigan on his schedule every year.
Unfortunately, though I certainly don't wish him ill, I suspect that Joe
won't live long enough to see this come to pass.

After watching the debacles with our top [read Bowl] teams this year....

I have changed by long standing belief that we don't need a playoff in the
Big 10.

We need to put Michigan and dOSU in separate divisions and then split the
conference NE to SW, with NU, Iowa, Minny, Wisconsin and Michigan in one Div
and the rest in another.

Yes it would screw up that annual dOSU/UM thing, but I'm sure they'd get
over it.

They could play the league championship in Soldier Field or Indy every year.

Then we wouldn't have an almost 2 month layoff between our final game and
the bowls.
