Agreed completely.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Georgetown in the
Big East and NC State in the ACC have proven that you
can compete in the upper division of tough leagues
using the "Princeton offense" and win. You may not win
the league, but you can get in the upper half and in
the NCAAs. Even Dick Bennett's slow style at Wisconsin
won in the Big Ten and is winning in the Pac 10 now at
Wazzu. We just need to recruit better.

Again, I'll disagree. When executed poorly, I agree it
is painful. But when you see the Princeton offense run
well, it is a beautiful thing. Especially against the
teams you'll see more of now with the early draftees -
a collection of top-notch athletes who have not
developed into a team, the frustration on their faces
as five players working together consistently beat
their superior athleticism is beautiful.

I dunno what the answer is for NU in terms of Carmody.
He is obviously a class individual and you'd hate to
start over again ... but we may need to press to hire
an associate head coach who is a heck of a recruiter
or something like that. Because when you have the
talent, this offense CAN work well. And in the new age
of college athletics where players are one-and-done,
if you can keep a nucleus of good players together as
seniors, it can really upset the balance of the way
things traditionally have been.
