I definitely don't want a win by forfeit, but I also don't want a loss
to a team that cheated.
I think that if USC was found guilty it should be 1996 Rose Bowl Big
Ten Representative Northwestern Pac Ten Representative N/A.
USC seems to be teflon as they escaped the Reggie Bush payments also.
All I know is that given SC's domination over the Big Ten I think the
Big Ten should turn down any Rose Bowl bid against the Trojans. Btw
tOSU is playing a away/home with USC in 2008/9.
Rose Bowl victories vs. USC(since WWII)
Jan. 2, 1989 Michigan 22, USC 14
Jan. 1, 1988 Michigan St 20, USC 17
Jan. 1, 1974 Ohio St 42, USC 21
Jan. 1, 1969 Ohio St 27, USC 16
Jan. 2, 1967 Purdue 14, USC 13
Jan. 1, 1955 Ohio St 20, USC 7
Jan. 1, 1948 Michigan 49, USC 0
Non-Rose Bowl victories vs. USC
Aug 25, 1996 Penn State 11, USC 7
Sep 10, 1994 Penn State 24, USC 8
Dec 31, 1990 Michgian State 17, USC 16 - John Hancock Bowl
Sep 7, 1989 Illinois 14, USC 13
Michigan is undefeated against USC outside the Rose Bowl(2-0)
Only Penn State and Michigan State have even records 4-4, everybody
else has a losing record.

I recall the whole forfeit discussion because GB refused to accept
it. He
said that he only wanted NU to be listed as the winner if they won on
the
field.
Don't know if this is something that the NCAA or the Rose Bowl
committee
deals with. But if I were the Rose Bowl committee, I don't think I
would
want to draw attention to something like that.

I heard about the academic ineligibility, but I never heard about the
forfeit. I thought nothing came of it.
On the tournament of roses official site it still lists the results and
generally when one team forefeits it lists it.

And watching Jarret brough back some bad memories of another big SC
wideout.
Still, every time they show those wide shots of the Rose Bowl I just
get
goosebumps and remember that magical trip eleven years ago.

Particularly watching him taunt the UoM defenders REALLY brought back
memories of Keeshawn. It was also interesting in one of the video
retrospectives of USC Rose Bowl wins to see John Robinson on the
shoulders
of his players. They neglected to mentioned USC forfeited that Rose
Bowl
win because of an academically ineligible Keeshawn on the field.
