The problem with too many "sportscasters" is that the game has become about them
and not the players.

As I watched the pregame of tonight's Orange Bowl, I finally had to change the
channel because I could care less about the "can you top this" aspect of the
current style of 4 and 5 man TV pregame show.

If swearing is the obvious display of lack of vocabulary, then the modern TV
pregame is an obvious display of lack of material.

Those who have chatted with me on NU games know my comments about many of those
doing NU games. I want the game to be about the players, not an attempt to show
why the commentator is smarter than the coach.

Maybe NBC was right, do away with all the commentators, just let the PA
announcer call the game.
