[NU Sports] Big Ten bowls ...

Well, it started out well today. But boy did Michigan
lay an egg - completely out-coached and out-hustled.
Aside from last year, Carrol has proven to be a tough
bowl coach with the extra month to prepare and he
really had Carr's number today. Dunno how UCLA did it,
but SC-OSU looks like it would have made one heck of a
title game.
So ... two tough defensive wins from Wisky and PSU,
two close shave losses (Minny's was a choke, but
Iowa's a game effort) and Purdue and Michigan just
didn't show up.
The one thing that's stood out though from watching
Big Ten games today is that the Lions, Badgers and
Wolverines all have a bunch of talent returning next
year. I know the Bucknuts will lose a bunch, but
Tressel's just in a reloading pattern there. So the
league's gonna be pretty tough next year.
And watching Jarret brough back some bad memories of
another big SC wideout. Still, every time they show
those wide shots of the Rose Bowl I just get
goosebumps and remember that magical trip eleven years
ago. Just something about seeing the sun set over the
mountains with all that tradition unlike any other
bowl ... so thankful we were able to make it there and
I look forward to Fitz' endless optimism carrying the
Purple back to Pasadena soon.
GO CATS!!!
