I can't comment on all of your points, but I would love to know the source of 
 your inside knowledge that Stanford makes exceptions for celebrities, 
athletes,  or  kids of politicians--(Or perhaps I should say more of an exception 
than NU does )

I live in the Bay Area and had never seen any articles backing your 
assertions--Of course that doesn't mean it 's not true, but you must have some inside  
info on some of their hoop players  like Josh Childress ,Brevin Knight, and  
Matt  Lottich , (from New Trier)  ,not to mention people like  Brodie, Plunkett 
,Washington, Lofton Elway,McEnroe, Tiger Woods, Chelsea Clinton, etc. etc. ) 
couldn't get into NU
