Since the "rules" were designed to make the TV game run faster, I guess the NCAA
Rules guys figured that TV had to bend to fit the game, and not vice-versa.

But nobody except the TV planner liked the new rules, and until the guy with the
hat down on the 20 is reigned in, games will go on and on - especially if they
start kicking from the 30

Looks like those STUPID clock changes are gone! And
although they still haven't tackled the real culprits
of long games (interminable TV timeouts ... sometimes
even when there's no live TV!), their game-shortening
solution this year is at least more exciting
(lengthening kickoffs = more returns).

Dunno if that bodes well for NU, though, with our poor
special teams lately on kickoffs ... though our return
game has been decent.
