[NU Sports] More bad basketball

Being out on the West Coast I don't get to see much of NU b-ball--but I know 
in the 30 years of  my following NU, we have yet to have "good" team. A few 
decent teams, (just making the NIT qualifies as decent ), but that's it--I think 
we have only had 2 or 3 guys make the NBA in that time as well. I can't 
figure out why it is so hard. We have had all kinds of coaches, including Coach K's 
predecessor at Duke,  none of whom have been able to pull much together.

Duke, in a class by itself, obviously is successful, as has been Stanford.  
Vandy has a had a few good teams as well (maybe the warm weather climate vs the 
Windy City  ?--doubtful).  Chicago may not be Ohio or Indiana for being high 
school hotbeds for basketball, but it sure ranks up there. 

The only thing that seems to ring true is that we can get  one or two  good 
players every now and then, but never enough to field a good team--
