so true Paul, I have been watching the spartys at Disney all week, BC and
their fans mostly did not show up except for the actual game, and SjT, the
weather is great, think 81 and not humid, geez, what is not to like about Orlando
this week. I have passes for all the parks and although the crowds are bad
the scene is unbeatable. Happy new year to all!!

True story involving the Champs Sports Bowl, which is being played right now
on ESPN, with Eagles ahead of Sparty 17-13 in the 3rd Quarter:

My son, David, the future Bucknell Bison, (Early Decision can be a wonderful
thing.:-), and in case anyone is wondering, he had good grades, but the
SAT's were not up to NU's insanely high standards these days)?is watching the
game and tells me, "I went to (summer) camp with one of the Michigan State
Players.? Robbie Tabachnick was a "Brant Laker" (the name of the 90-year-old
camp, up in the Adirondacks near Lake George, NY).? Tabachnick, wearing No. 42
and going by the name "Rob" these days, and who is a "walk-on",is actually
playing quite well on "D" for Sparty tonight.? He and David were teammates in the
Color War competition that closes the camp season each year, although
Tabachnick is 4 years older.? The competition is called "Green and Gray", and
naturally, given where he now plays, Rob was a "Green", as was David.?

Meanwhile, it's killing me that NU could have/should have been in this
game--which is 3 hours from where I am vacationing in Florida--had we only taken
care of business against Duke and hung on against either Michigan or Purdue,
both winnable games.? We beat MSU, yet here we are on the outside looking in.?
Well, as SJT would probably put it, it gives us more incentive to get there
next year.? Go 'Cats in 2008!

Happy New Year to all of you on the list.

Paul Levinson
