Unless the selectee is on staff at a bowl bound team, there's little reason to
hold off an announcement.  

Of course, losing Murphy at the end of the year could delay any announcement
since the AD has to sign off on new hires and Murph would probably leave that
for a successor. 

However, now that there's an interim AD, NU could go a while without a new
permanent AD, maybe until the end of the school year. Its funny that NU's search
for assistants doesn't light up the sky like those at other colleges. 

You also have to wonder if Okruh is still in play, or is he planning to return
next year, or after the Rose Bowl, Zook will announce which assistant gets
promoted.

Gee, this is just like Hot Stove Baseball.....
