I normally ignore USA today, but based on previous posts I was curious how the coaches voted in the final poll.

USA Today has a ton of interesting articles including:

College football coaches calling lucrative plays -- coaching salaries
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2007-12-04-coaches-pay_N.htm
The Big Ten has the high percentage of bonuses related to academics of any of the conferences, which is good.

Cost-per-win for Division I-A schools
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2007-cost-per-win.htm
Indiana is getting their monies worth, but Minnesota paid a cool $1M for their OT win vs. Miami(OH).

Coaching bonuses take unusual form
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2007-12-05-coaching-bonuses_N.htm
UTEP's coach gets a $1 for each warm body in the stadium. Hopefully Fitz does not have that clause ;-(

West Point keeps coach's pay secret
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2007-12-05-army-pay_N.htm
Army hush hush about salafy, but I am sure they would be crowing if the could beat Navy whose coach is making just over $1M.

Unique clause addresses admissions
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2007-12-05-fiu-admissions_N.htm
Not a good contract clause that AD can override academic departments denial of admissions. He might be dumb, but he has an arm like a cannon...

Northwestern does not report most information so one can only speculate what we pay Fitz, but you would figure he would have to be near $1M. I can't believe Ferentz makes Stoops, Spurrier, Tressel, Carrol, figures. They are truly idiots-out-wandering-aimlessly.
