[NU Sports] Maybe the Big Ten ...

I seem to recall (but I am not certain) that we have had two BCS entrants in
every year of the BCS. This has meant more money for everybody. As a
selfish, greedy fan, I propose this:

- play as few conference games as is legally possible. 8 is good, fewer
would be even better.

- it follows, play as many non-conf games as possible. And play as many
lousy teams as possible.

- The recent trend has been for more and more bowl games to form. As long
as this trend continues, we need to supply as many bowl-eligible teams as
possible. This maximizes conference income.

It seems our best case scenario would be an 8-0 team, a 7-1 team, two 4-4
teams and seven 3-5 teams. If everybody schedules and beats 4 non-conference
patsies, we could have 1 team in the BCS title game, one team in the Rose
Bowl, and 9 other bowl teams.

My vote is - don't change anything. No conference championship game, no
6-team divisions. The current set-up has worked well for the conference. I am
somewhat jealous of the Pac-10 teams, with their two extra weeks of games,
but I understand that there is BCS value to finishing early, and watching other
contenders fall.
