[NU Sports] Big 10 Network

I have an email from a guy who works at the Big Ten Network (friend of a friend) stating that the games are on overflow channels. DirecTV employees are generally clueless. I honestly find that I have to call and ask the same question 5 times and go with the response that comes up 3 our of 5 as being 'most likely accurate'.

I just switched to DirecTV on Friday, specifically for the BTN (and overflow channels). I am going to assume that the DirecTV folks on the phone are saying 'only one channel' because they haven't yet been given the numbers for the overflow channels.

Go Cats!
Jim

The Big Ten Network today reiterated that DirecTV will indeed carry all of the overflow games. That's in the website FAQ, updated today.

There would really be no earthly reason for DirecTV not to do so - first, the additional games are being provided to them absolutely free; second, DirecTV has the additional channel space available and uses these regularly for additional sports coverage; and finally, it's a great opportunity to keep all of their existing Big Ten customers happy at a time when much of the competition won't have the games at all. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
